SUMMARY:KP Hole Rainbow River Drift Dive & Certification
DESCRIPTION:We have been asked for it \, so here it is. Come along and enjoy this exciting drift dive at KP Hole at Rainbow River. This is a fun relaxing great way to dive. There are no runoff tributaries so the spring fed river is nearly perfectly clear. Clarity is its number one feature. \nUnderwater visibility is 150 feet plus. With no wind or waves\, one can see to the bottom of the deepest hole. That would be Devil’s Elbow at about 23 feet. You may even see a small musk turtle crawling on the very bottom chasing a fresh water shrimp. \nMeet up will be between 6:15am-6:30am in the overflow parking lot across the road from the main entrance. The park it’s self opens at 7am for divers. We will brief in the parking lot\, gear up and head down to the Water Taxi. \nWe will take the Water Taxi up to the concrete wall where we will drop into the water\, move our way over to the side to group up. Once everyone is in the water we will defend and drift with the river until we reach down to the Hole area. There we will surface and take a 10-15 minute break in the shallows. Enough time for everyone’s dive computer to reset then defend again to drift back to the dock are where we will exit the water. \nYou will need a dive flag for diving and snorkeling. You can rent them from the park\, bring your own. \nYou can also earn your SDI Drift Diver Certification on this great dive! \nPlease note: Some Dive Adventures and classes may have a minimum participant requirement. Please check with The Dive Place for details. \nCall The Dive Place on 407-517-4737 to join us on this exciting and amazing dive adventure!

SUMMARY:Arrive Alive Driving Simulator
DESCRIPTION:UNITE is the #1 Health and Wellness Organization in the Nation. We visit campuses on all levels\, Three Rivers CCWe have educational programs that are designed to heighten awareness to the dangers and consequences of drunk driving\, distracted driving and texting while driving. We also have follow-up programs to better impact your students about the subjects that you teach them daily. Unlike many other educational programs that may be available\, we can impact your entire campus with positive messages that will last a lifetime.UNITE’s Arrive Alive Tour uses a high-tech simulator\, impact video\, and a number of other resources to educate individuals and communities about the dangers of texting while driving. The distracted driving simulator allows participants to experience\, in a controlled environment\, the potential consequences of texting and driving. \n Participants get into an actual vehicle (with battery disabled and car immobilized) and put on a virtual reality headset. Sensors are connected to the vehicle’s gas/brake pedals and steering wheel\, enabling the participant to experience drugged driving without the real-life consequences. Upon exiting the vehicle\, each participant is handed a mock citation detailing the ramifications of their simulation\, as explained by a facilitator. An external LED monitor is set-up near the vehicle\, showing what the driver is experiencing in their simulation in real time. The program incorporates an event survey on Android tablets. This survey gauges participants knowledge and experience in relation to texting while driving before and after they use the simulator as well as a simulation for drinking while driving before and after.
