DESCRIPTION:The Florida Thoroughbred Transformation Exposition is presented by the charitable organization Run For The Ribbons Inc. who dedicates themselves to providing off- track Thoroughbreds (OTTB) the foundation needed to ensure a smooth transition into their next career and home. \nThe 3rd Florida Thoroughbred Transformation Expo will be held on December 6-8th\, 2019 at the Florida Horse Park in Ocala\, Florida. The prize money amount for 2019 TBA. It will feature competition in 9 disciplines including barrel racing\, dressage\, working ranch\, show jumper\, show hunter\, cross-country\, polo\, freestyle and new for this year OTTB In-Hand. Each discipline will have 2 divisions\, one Restricted and one Open. The Restricted division will be composed of registered/tattooed off-track Thoroughbreds whose last race or race training workout was on or later than January 1\, 2016. The Open division will be composed of any registered/tattooed off-track thoroughbred whose last race or race training workout was prior to January 1\, 2015\, as well as any unraced Thoroughbred. Expo events will also include a vendor fair/marketplace\, educational seminars\, and a competitors & sponsors appreciation party! \nMission and Goals \nRun for the Ribbons Inc. hopes that the FL TB Transformation Expo will increase the demand of Thoroughbreds and encourage people to take on a “project horse”\, because we know how versatile\, intelligent\, and honest a Thoroughbred is. We intend to educate the community on the versatility of the Thoroughbred breed. We also want to encourage the community and the Thoroughbred racing industry to further support our efforts\, as well as other charitable organizations in Florida who also dedicate their time and resources to positively impact the lives of these horses. \nRun for the Ribbons Inc. realizes that horse racing and Thoroughbred sales are a vital part in Florida’s economy\, producing more than 1\,500 Thoroughbred foals every year. Our goal is to create an outlet for the horses post racing. In 2018 600 children and 300 families were helped. \nThe other 50 % is used to provide free sight and hearing exams\, eyeglasses\, hearing aids and eye surgery.  for about 800 individuals annually\, Provides College scholarships for entering students.
