From Jan. 6 through Jan. 20, a number of local events commemorated the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year’s theme was “Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice, and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence 365.”
The activities were organized by the Martin Luther King Commemorative Committee and proceeds will help fund scholarships for local high school students.
The annual Prayer Breakfast took place the morning of Jan. 18 at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place.
