Dr. Patricia Jones, MD (Director) Rajee Paul, MD Juan Yordan, MD Larry Sims, PA-C L – R: Shalisa, Heather, Shana, and Gerry.

Patricia Jones, MD, director of the Primary Care Specialists of North Florida, LLC, immediately puts her patients at ease. Upon meeting with her patients, she makes them feel comfortable and confident of her abilities.

“We have a small staff and an inviting waiting room,” says Dr. Jones. “‘Our family caring for your family’ is our motto.”

Dr. Jones has a great deal of compassion and respect for all her patients. She is an advocate of preventative care to maintain the optimal health for all her patients. She believes that healthcare involves a partnership between the patient and the physician.

Dr. Jones, board certified by the American Academy of Family Practice and a certified clinical researcher, participates in treatment trials for many new drugs as a principal investigator. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with honors. She completed her residency training at the University of Florida in 1995. Dr. Jones has been in practice in Ocala for over 11 years and is a fellow with the American Academy of Family Practice.

Dr. Jones is accepting new patients and is interested in pediatrics, family planning, gynecology, cancer care, and internal medicine, which includes hypertension, diabetics, cardiovascular medicine, and pulmonary medicine. She especially enjoys working with patients from start to finish during the diagnosis and management of a patient’s care.

Dr. Jones is proud to announce the addition of three new colleagues to the Ocala practice:

Rajee Paul, MD: Dr. Paul is a board-certified family practice physician and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She comes to Ocala from the U.S. Air Force. Dr. Paul is skilled in all aspects of family practice and her military background has provided her strong clinical and leadership skills. Dr. Paul is now accepting new patients of all ages with special focus on women’s health.

Juan Yordan, MD: Dr. Yordan is also a board-certified family practice physician and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Yordan comes from the Physician Multispecialty Groups in Coeburn, Virginia. He was also founder and president of an HMO-like organization in Ponce, Puerto Rico. What Dr. Yordan enjoys most is geriatric and adolescent medicine. Although they are different, he finds them both challenging in their own ways. Dr. Yordan is married with two children.

Larry Sims, PA-C: Sims is also board-certified and hails from Cincinnati. Sims says that the best part of his job is to “help people and establish relationships toward a positive outcome.” Sims says his specialties are hypertension/cardiovascular in the adult population, prostate disorders/erectile dysfunction, and evaluation/medical therapy in diabetics.

Additional staff includes Gerry, the administrator; Shana, the front desk medical clerk; and Heather and Shalisa, medical assistants who work closely with the doctors and love helping patients.

Primary Care Specialists has staff privileges at MRMC, ORMC, and WMCH. Dr. Jones and her colleagues have always maintained that if you listen to the patients, they will point you in the right direction to investigate their problem.
