SUMMARY:ARC Marion 2019 Art Exhibition - Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:The City of Ocala Cultural Arts Division presents: “ARC Expressions”\, ARC Marion’s annual art exhibition. An opening reception will be held on Thursday\, Jan. 24 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at City Hall Lobby. Beverages from Island Grove Wine Company and light hors d’oeuvres from Decadence a la carte Catering and Destination chef will be served. \nCelebrate ARC Marion\, Inc. program members with artwork created by individuals in the Adult Day Training program. The Advocacy Resource Center (ARC) of Marion County creates opportunities for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live\, work and play to the fullest of their abilities. Adults in the Adult Day Training program have the opportunity to express themselves through art. Each piece is a unique reflection of the individual. \nExhibition will be on view through Mar. 26\, 2019 at City Hall (110 SE Watula Ave.\, Ocala\, FL. 34470). City Hall is open to the public Monday through Friday\, 8 a.m to 5 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:The City of Ocala presents Art Outside the Lines\, an opportunity to celebrate and support public art in Ocala.  \nFrom 5:30 to 7 p.m. First\, stop by Ocala City Hall for light refreshments and to pick up your downtown public art map.  Visit our city’s public art with a self-guided walking tour through Ocala’s historic downtown\, stopping to learn about each piece from the artists or docents. \n7 to 9 p.m. – Join us at the Tuscawilla Art Park at 213 NE 5th Street\, to enjoy a concert under the stars featuring cellist and composer Ben Sollee. Guests of Outside the Lines will have admission to a special VIP tent with additional seating\, complementary appetizers\, and a cash bar.  (Admission to the concert is included with your Art Outside the Lines ticket).  \nABOUT BEN SOLLEE\nKentucky-born cellist and composer Ben Sollee likes to keep moving. Over the six years following the release of his debut record\, Learning to Bend\, Sollee and his rugged cello\, Kay\, told an unconventional story. Seeking a deeper connection to communities on the road\, Ben packed his touring life on to his bicycle in 2009. Since then he has ridden over 4\,000 miles! He has been invited to perform and speak on sustainability at a number of festivals including South by Southwest Music (2011) and TEDx San Diego (2012).  Ben’s music can be heard in film and on TV.
