Honoring Our Heroes

Fallen veterans were remembered for selfless service. Family,
friends and fellow veterans put aside the hustle of life to salute the brave military professionals who lost their lives during service to our country. An audience heard the names of 138 fallen veterans—all with connections to Marion County—during a quarterly memorial ceremony held at the Ocala Marion
County Veterans Memorial Park earlier this year. Song,
poem readings, and honor-guard gunfire were all part of the
shades of patriotic pride. “Freedom is not free” are words
intimately known by military professionals. On this day,
acknowledging our fallen veterans served as a reminder to all.
We should never forget them.
