Equines on Parade

Downtown Ocala typically is packed with pedestrians and automobiles. On March 7th, however, more than 60 breeds of horses took to city streets in an impressive display of what makes Ocala/Marion County the “Horse Capital of the World.”

The fourth annual Horse Capital Parade/Parade of Nations was presented by the Ocala/Marion County Chamber and Economic Partnership (CEP) and Live Oak International, in concert with the multi-day equine competitions at Live Oak Stud.

“Live Oak International was pleased to be able to sponsor The Parade of Nations once again this year,” said Chester Weber, co-president of Live Oak International. “It’s an annual highlight in Ocala and it’s a great opportunity for the community to come out, experience and appreciate the range of breeds and horses in Ocala/Marion County. We look forward to continuing to support this initiative for years to come.”

Among the highlights of the parade were the famous Budweiser Clydesdales, a vendor village, a special zone for children and a VIP reception.  The CEP estimated that approximately 20,000 people attended the event.
