3rd Annual Emergency Preparness for people with disability Expo

The Center for Independent Living is hosting our 3rd Annual Marion County Emergency Preparedness Expo. This free event will help you understand how to be ready for any type of emergency in our community. We will have speakers, vendors and local Emergency Management staff available to provide information such as shelter accessibility and locations, names of local emergency contacts and creating a disaster preparedness plan and supply kit. There will be refreshments and ASL interpreters will be provided.
Guardian Angels will be there to present on the differences between service animals vs companion animals that you can bring to emergency shelters. The Marion County Sheriff Dept. EOC will also be there to present on Specials Need Shelters and what to expect. Plus, what happens during a disaster from an Emergency Operations Center perspective. Also TV20 News Bill Quiulan Chief Meteorologist. He will be talking about local weather issues and updates. Then Mr. Rocky Ramirez from Regions Bank is presenting about financial issues that might occur when there is an emergency.
