Trail Name: Holly Hammock/Ross Prairie Loop Ross Prairie State ParkMileage/Gain: 2.5 miles or 6 miles. 225 ft elevation gain.
Description of trail and terrain: This easy day hike leads you through a variety of habitats, including long-leaf pine forest, scrub, and oak hammocks, while skirting the prairie. The first loop will take us thru the Ross Prairie State Forest and the second across the Marjorie Harris Cross Florida Greenway. This trail is 75% shaded.
Gear Needed Or Recommended: 2 Liters Water, Hat, Sunscreen, Bug spray, Sunglasses and Rain Poncho.Dogs allowed?: Good Dogs on Leash may attend.
Notes On Parking/Directions To Trailhead: Lat-Long: 29.038717, -82.295367 Ross Prairie State Park, 10660 SW State Rd 200. Follow SR 200 south from Ocala, crossing CR 484. Look for the trailhead at the green sign 1.5 miles past CR 484 on the left. Follow the road around to park near the restrooms.
