Hayrides will be running all day to parking areas at Illinois Owen’s Park and Windsor Baptist Church. Just 7 miles east of Gainesville, home of the famous Univ. of FL Gators, nestled in forests and farmland and bordering the shores of historic Newnan’s (Pithlachocco) Lake, Windsor is one of Florida’s oldest communities and best kept secrets.
More than 35 years ago a group of concerned residents saw the need to set up and support their own Volunteer Fire Department to better protect the community and its surrounding areas. The Windsor Zucchini Festival was created to raise funds to help pay the bills. Thanks to the WVFD Community Service Committee of volunteers, the Festival is still going strong and is better than ever.
Proceeds go to support the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department and the community, WVFD is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt org., registered with the State of Florida for fundraising. CH41948 For more information: info@windsor-z-news.org or Festival Chairperson, Cindy 352-372-4875 or visit http://bit.ly/2V3NSOQ.
