A Cut Above The Rest

Hair stylist Kevin Bozadjian returned to Florida and his Southern roots following a decade of international travel. After a great deal of soul searching, the Ocala native decided to capitalize on his high-profile experience and carve out his own distinctive career niche in the Lake-Sumter area, choosing to “stay home” rather than succumb to the glamour of California or the allure of European capitals. He is convinced it was the right decision.

“Other places are beautiful, but this is home. It’s where I feel comfortable,” states the urbane and sophisticated stylist. “I believe I can be a real asset to the community and can make a difference. This is a fantastic place to live.”

“There’s no need to leave town for expert color, cut, and style,” Kevin adds.

Clients are happy to no longer feel the necessity to travel to larger cities, which are often and erroneously perceived as having more upscale services. He also believes that his Southern heritage translates into caring customer service.

The gravity of a hair crisis situation is difficult to overstate.

While it may not rise to the homeland security level of importance, every woman knows how difficult it is to find that perfect stylist — ranking right up there in importance with finding a trustworthy doctor or attorney! Women want a stylist who knows current trends, products and techniques, ‘gets’ their personal style, and takes their lifestyle, face shape, complexion, and preferences into consideration. A bonus would be finding someone like Kevin who has won both awards and competitions.

Although his appointment calendar is often filled, he accepts new and discerning clients who will demand more and present him with color, cut, and style dilemmas that test his skills and imagination.

Kevin brings an impressive level of experience to hair styling, makeup, and design trends. From studying and traveling with industry leaders, to teaching and participating in international trade shows, he knows how to help women look their best.

As a color specialist, Kevin achieves his client’s color objectives by using only top-of-the-line products such as Redken. He can also correct disasters resulting from well-intentioned home use, sun damage, incorrect product usage, or other less-than-professional treatments. He enjoys the challenge that corrective coloring presents.

“It is enormously rewarding to see the client’s joy when a catastrophe turns into a success,” he says.

Kevin has also perfected the art of the razor cut, a difficult tool to master, but one he believes results in a superior precision haircut without the delineation lines that often result from the use of scissors. Scissor cuts can appear ‘blunt’ and imprecise, while razor cutting yields better movement and fullness, even with thinning hair.

“There’s really no limit to what you can create with razor cutting,” Kevin says, dramatically demonstrating his skills.  From a theatrical flurry of flying hair, a sleek, contemporary style emerges.

“Clients sometimes have a particular style in mind; others invite suggestions. With an open dialogue, together we can arrive at a color, cut, or style that merges what they want with what I believe will work best for them,” he adds.

Is all that too much to ask?

“Absolutely not,” Kevin states emphatically. “There’s no need to choose between great style and convenience. Regardless of your personal style — casual elegance, urban sophisticate, sporty, or modern chic — a woman can look great without spending a fortune or leaving town.

“Great color, expert razor cutting, and professional expertise is definitely not too much to ask,” Kevin says, “It only takes a few bucks to look like a million bucks!”
