What began as Brooklyn’s Original Pizza has evolved into Brooklyn’s Backyard, known not just for its top-notch culinary creations but for the eclectic backyard-themed atmosphere as well. Celebrating one year in their new location, owners Janice and Tim Thomas continue to offer their prize-winning fare and are excited to announce some of their latest ventures.
As back-to-back winners of the Prince of Pizza award and taking home the coveted King of the Wing award this year, Brooklyn’s Backyard is known for their emphasis on quality food.
“Our burgers are absolutely breathtaking,” says Janice. She notes that although the St. Croix burger remains a fan favorite, incorporating cream cheese, Thai chili sauce and fried banana peppers, each 1/2-pound patty is a unique creation.
Although the burgers are certainly something to behold, the menu also consists of an array of crowd-pleasing appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and more made with only the freshest ingredients. The food alone is certainly enough to draw a crowd, but the unique backyard atmosphere and regular live entertainment is what sets Brooklyn’s apart.
“We’ve got live entertainment every Friday, fresh seafood buckets each Saturday and are incorporating wine and tapas pairing and beer dinner events as well,” says Janice. She notes that the introduction of Chef Jeremy Zajac to the team at Brooklyn’s has proven to be a welcome addition as well.
“Chef Jeremy has trained under Felix and has worked in some of Ocala’s finest restaurants. We are thrilled to have him on board with us,” says Janice.
Along with the rotating selection of craft beers, unique backyard environment, live entertainment and emphasis on only the highest quality and freshest ingredients, Brooklyn’s Backyard is sure to keep drawing a crowd and racking up awards.
Janice, Tim and Jeremy are excited to keep pairing food with entertainment while continuing to provide their menu classics.
