Achieving Financial Freedom

A Financial Advisor with Edward Jones since 1985, Richard Harry previously worked for several manufacturing companies in the Midwest. Fortunately for his clients, that Midwest charm and sincerity has remained with Richard.

Originally from Danville, Illinois, Richard attended Schlarman High School, Milliken University in Decatur, Illinois, and graduated with a degree in Business Management from Eastern Illinois University.Richard notes that his educational experience is constantly evolving with additional training in all facets of investment products, estate considerations, insurance, and long term care. Just another way Richard is ensuring he gives his clients the best possible advice.

“I enjoy working with individual small investors,” he says. “The goal is to connect where they are in their investment path to where they would like to be.”

Richard’s Edward Jones career began in Illinois and Ohio, allowing him to bring Wall Street to Main Street for his clients. He operated an office in Bellafontaine, Ohio for nine years, eventually becoming a Limited Partner of the firm—an impressive accomplishment for any Advisor to achieve.

Family health concerns prompted Richard to move to Central Florida in 1994 where he reopened an office in beautiful Mount Dora. Richard has trained many new Advisors through the years—some of whom have gone on to open offices in Eustis and Tavares.

A Central Floridian at heart now, Richard is also actively involved in the community, serving as a past Director for the Eustis Chamber of Commerce. He is also past President of the Eustis Kiwanis Club. His wife of 45 years Penelope Anne is both supportive and proud of her husband’s achievements as are the couples two children, Kevin and Amanda, and three grandchildren.

It’s obvious Richard takes great satisfaction in his career and in helping others achieve their financial independence—especially during a time when many families, both locally and nationally, are facing economic hardships. You could say Richard enjoys a good challenge.
