Advanced Dental Care of Ocala

Advanced Dental Care of Ocala offers full-service, personalized care in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

The multi-specialist office allows patients the convenience of having all necessary and cosmetic dental procedures completed in one familiar location. Advanced Dental Care of Ocala is staffed by two general dentists with support from a periodontist. The staff is also proud to announce the addition of Dr. Alex Gluhareff, DDS, MAGD to the practice. Specializing in IV sedation, root canals, and oral surgery, Dr. Gluhareff complements an already talented staff.

Patients at Advanced Dental Care can be assured that should a routine exam reveal the need for specialty dentistry, they can simply make an appointment with the necessary specialist on staff.

“All the doctors in our office have the same philosophy,” says general dentist Dr. Eugenio Cava, DDS. “We believe in spending quality time with each patient. Our goal is to give our patients the proper treatments in a reasonable amount of time.”

Dr. Cava comes from a family of medical professionals. His father is a retired medical doctor.

Dr. Cava acknowledges that he doesn’t treat his patients until he has taken the time to answer their questions and address their concerns.

“Relieving a patient’s anxiety is a big part of my job,” he says. “If I spend a little time telling them what to expect, then they’re much more comfortable with me and with the procedure.” Dr. Tuquyen Nguyen, DMD agrees.

“It’s important that every patient understands everything we do from the start of their appointment to the end,” she says. “More importantly than that, I understand that every patient has particular needs and isn’t just a set of teeth that I will be working on. I want my patients to know I’m always here to assist with any dental needs that arise.”

Following an initial patient consultation, the doctors will then conduct an oral evaluation to determine any treatments that may be needed. A customized treatment plan is then developed, beginning with the implementation of a hygiene schedule. The latter could include a regular six-month prophylaxis cleaning or a deep scaling depending on each patient’s needs.”

For patients who are anxious about needles, one of the latest dental breakthroughs available at Advanced Dental Care of Ocala is Oraqix, a needle-free anesthetic. Beside the fact that there are no needles involved, the beauty of Oraqix is that the numbing results last only 20 minutes. Oraqix is ideal for deep-scaling procedures and for patients with sensitive teeth who need a little assistance getting through routine cleanings.

Outside the customary dental visit for fillings or crowns, many patients may be unaware of the need to improve the health of their gums. Dr. Seung Lee, DMD, the on-staff periodontist is available to perform procedures such as gum recontouring, bone and tissue grafts, and dental implants.

“I really like my patients to understand the importance of healthy gums and the role that it plays in greatly improving the longevity of teeth,” says Dr. Lee. “I want my patients to know that there are many options for treatment and our office can provide comprehensive therapy for the gums and teeth in a single office.”

Also available at Advanced Dental Care of Ocala are options for teeth whitening including ZOOM, a convenient two-hour, chair-side procedure. For a less expensive option, a take-home whitening system is also available.

“No matter what your dental needs may be—from the complex to the routine—the staff will provide you and your family with the best possible dental care available,” says office manager Heather Smith. “We’ve worked hard to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that’s comfortable for our patients. New patients are welcomed and long-lasting relationships here are the norm.”
