Gem in Mount Dora

When you walk into Gold In Art Jewelers in Mount Dora, you’ll be greeted by the owner Richie Kluesener or by one of his relatives. If it’s not Richie himself, who has owned the store since 1985, then his mother, his brother, a cousin, or one of his two sisters will welcome you.

“Our goal is to put a smile on every customer’s face,” says Richie. “You won’t be treated like a number. We’ll be looking out for you by helping you find something that will fit your budget whether it’s $30 or $30,000.”

Many of the exquisite jewelry pieces displayed in Gold In Art’s sleek showcases are one-of-a-kind creations designed by their award-winning design team. The showroom is 450 square feet of elegantly decorated space, where the showcases display some of the most unique jewelry to be seen in Florida.

Gold In Art has received more awards for its distinctive designs than any other jewelry store in Florida, and it’s the only Florida store to win the prestigious “Best of Show” in the National Design Competition held by the Jewelers of America. The Florida Jewelers Association has selected Gold In Art Jewelers to represent Florida in this annual competition five out of the last six years. It was in 2003 that the Jewelers of America gave its top design award to Gold In Art for a bracelet featuring the New York City skyline.

The store also carries jewelry created by nationwide manufacturers, but strict guidelines regarding the craftsmanship are always met to ensure that quality is not sacrificed for price.

Although Richie is proud of the store’s many awards, he is just as pleased about its ability to offer expert repair services on the premises. No repair is too small or too large for the store’s laser-welder—the latest in jewelry repair technology.

“Customers constantly tell us that they’ve tried to have jewelry fixed elsewhere and were told ‘it can’t be done’,” says Richie. “With the laser-welder technology we can repair intricate pieces that conventional soldering methods would destroy.”

For example, repairs to a pearl and emerald bracelet using a torch would be impossible because the stones would be ruined. The laser produces a much stronger repair without damaging the gemstones.

One of the best benefits of this technology is that your newly purchased ring can be sized right away. “Customers who come to us first can enjoy downtown Mount Dora and have some lunch while their new ring is being altered,” he says. “When they return it’ll fit perfectly.”

Another feature that sets Gold In Art apart from other jewelry stores is that prices are realistic to begin with.

“You will not see exorbitant price slashing or markdowns from inflated prices,” explains Richie. “The prices you see whenever you visit the store are the ones you get.”

Fair prices, state-of-the art technology, award winning designs, and excellent customer service have made Gold In Art Jewelers one of Lake county’s fastest growing jewelry retailers over the last 22 years. The family attributes their success to word-of-mouth advertising and to the fact that they genuinely embrace the proverb displayed on their business cards: “A good name is to be more desired than great riches.”
