Over the past few years, the Horse Capital of the World has gained a reputation for hosting the premier spring sale. This year’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales spring sale of 2-year-olds in training, held April 23-26, galloped past all previous records. With a total of 672 horses sold, the gross sales of more than $73 million was up around 6 percent from last year. The average price went up 11 percent this year, and a record three individual horses sold for more than a million dollars each.
