Ocala Royal Dames for Cancer Research, Inc., Masquerade Ball

The gala event on March 23 at the Circle Square Cultural Center featured entertainment, dining and lots of fun guessing who was behind each mask. The nonprofit, all volunteer group raises money that helps support educational programs and activities that promote, enhance and further cancer research and education on a local and regional level. This year’s guest speaker was Lisa Niemi Swayze, the widow of Patrick Swazye. She is an author, dancer and actress. In 2011, she was honored with the title of Dame and invested in the Royal Order of Francis the 1st for her work on behalf of pancreatic cancer.
