Parting Shot: Fantasy In Frost

Parting Shot: Fantasy In Frost

“I believe that nature’s mysteries are always there, waiting to be discovered if we just pause and look close enough. An early frost brought an unexpected gift on one of my morning walks. Sparkling in the sunlight, my row of pasture fence posts wore an intricate crystal jewelry of frost. Each circle of the wood’s grain glittered with tiny spikes of ice. Short hours later, the sun rose higher and all the magic was gone, leaving plain posts unadorned. When warm weather returns, I will see those simple fence posts and remember the bright gift of those delicate patterns of frost.”
