“A Great Blue Heron nests in a pine tree that overlooks Lake Weir. This one—I call him ‘George’—seems to wander from this area more than the others. One day I happened upon him trying to make friends with my lawn ornament. I watched him with amusement for a few minutes and then thought to get my camera. Thankfully, he didn’t give up easily, and I was able to grab a few shots before he got his feathers ruffled and left, disappointed to have gotten the cold shoulder.”
