State-Of-The-Art Everything

Beverly Angelotti believes that all young children should have a great beginning in life and be in an environment where they can reach their full potential. That’s precisely why she’s opening her second preschool, Creative Beginnings, right here in Ocala.

Beverly’s first award-winning school opened 18 years ago in Hollywood, Florida. The accolades are impressive. “Best Preschool in Hollywood, 2009” according to a Hollywood Gazette reader survey, two “Teachers of the Year” awards from the Hollywood Jaycees, and “Best Large Preschool” in Child Care Magazine. The school is at full capacity with 125 children.

After visiting Ocala four years ago, Beverly fell in love with the friendliness of the people and the beautiful area and now calls Ocala home. She’s bringing her education expertise to our community and offering the best quality education available.

“Great beginnings last a lifetime,” Beverly says. Her newly constructed 6,000-square-foot building by Brian Ehlers Construction was designed by renowned architect Ted Harder and has 10 classrooms, a library, a computer room, and three playgrounds. It even has a water park! The school opens this month and will accept newborns through 5 years of age. The school will also offer VPK for four‑year‑olds.

A firm believer in early childhood education, Beverly believes the term “daycare” is outdated.

“We’re a preschool,” she says. “We teach year-round twice a day with a lot of fun and play in between.

“We teach by the thematic and whole language approach,” Beverly continues. “Play is the work of children. It’s how you teach young children who do not read or write the concepts they need to build their vocabulary and master school subjects. They learn to share, be creative, get along, and
think ideas through.”

The staff at Creative Beginnings cooks all meals on the premises and offers breakfast, lunch, and fresh snacks.

“We have a weekly chapel and music class as well,” Beverly says. “And it’s all included in the tuition.”

“Our teachers all have their CDA teacher certification, in addition to the required 40-hour course in health and safety,” says Beverly. “I also require all my teachers to be certified in first aid and CPR.”

All the teachers at Creative Beginnings are provided with the most current curriculum, and there are several themes offered each week for them to teach. In addition, the children learn numbers, the alphabet, phonics, shapes, colors, scissor practice, and science.

“We recite the Pledge of Allegiance and we say grace at mealtimes,” adds Beverly. “Our graduates are capable of mastering all the skills one usually learns in kindergarten.”

Of course it’s not all about learning! Music is commonplace and there are often parades in the hallways for the kids to take part in. As part of the school’s character building program, the children are taught good manners and compassion for others.

“The classrooms are filled with everything a child needs to succeed,” Beverly says. “We have state-of-the-art everything, including an on-site security system the parents will appreciate.”

The management and staff at Creative Beginnings want the very best for your child and that includes parents who are active in their child’s life. And they offer plenty of opportunities for that! A Valentine’s Day dance, open houses, a cap‑and‑gown graduation, Easter egg hunts, patriotic bike parades, Halloween events, parent’s breakfasts, and holiday parties are just a few of the events for parents to share with their little ones.

“I absolutely love what I do,” Beverly says. “I love to listen to and observe the children engaged in learning and watch them master all the basic skills, from infancy to five years of age. It’s so rewarding to watch them grow into well-mannered human beings.”
