What’s In A Name?

Greg Steinmetz’s grandparents, Pinky and Glenn Parker, were also reputable builders. The Steinmetz family — Caleb, Susan, Greg Jr., Greg, and Christine — is proud to carry on the traditions of their ancestors. Greg Steinmetz Construction builds homes with many exquisite finishing touches like media rooms and spacious kitchens. Nancy and Leo Steinmetz. The success of Greg’s parents in the building industry inspired Greg to become the builder he is today.

The Steinmetz Group has been in business in Lake and Marion County since the 1970s. Some of the most notable businesses run by the Steinmetz family include All Village Realty which serves buyers and sellers in Marion, Lake, and Sumter Counties; Caleb’s Place, an upscale apartment community in Lady Lake; and the Microtel Inn and Suites south of The Villages, just to name a few.

Greg Steinmetz, who has worked closely with his family all his adult life, wants area residents to add Greg Steinmetz Construction to that list.

Building custom homes from Gainesville south to Hernando County, Greg believes in providing each client the very best in customer support, something his dad, Leo, stressed over the years.

“The entire Steinmetz staff treated us wonderfully,” says Noemi Montes de Oca of Levy County. Noemi and her husband, Joel, built their dream home with Steinmetz last June. “Greg and his wife Susan made it a point to keep us very involved and updated throughout the process, and the customer support was outstanding.”

Noemi notes that the process was mostly smooth, hitting only one or two bumps along the way.

“The great thing about Greg and Susan is that they were right there offering us solutions and support if a situation arose,” Noemi says. “When the tile subcontractor wouldn’t lay the tile without first installing a felt membrane to protect against cracks, it was a cost I wasn’t prepared for. The cost was almost as much as the tile itself and since it was never mentioned, Greg took care of the cost out of his own pocket. I can’t tell you how much that meant to my husband and me.”

“You’re not going to get business just because the real estate and housing markets are busy,” Greg says. “My dad stressed keeping and maintaining our good family name by making each customer feel as though they were the only one.”

As a third generation builder, Greg stands by his family name, noting that it takes a special company to be able to put their name on their product.

“We’re very proud of both the Steinmetz name and of the homes we build,” Greg says. “It says a lot that I’m willing to put my name upfront and in the limelight.”

When building homes, Greg Steinmetz Construction goes a step above many other contracting companies, offering top-quality products as standards rather than upgrades.

“We offer high-quality appliances, Trane and Carrier HVAC units, custom windows, and other high-grade building materials as standards,” Greg says. Standard interior finishes include berber carpeting, wood cabinets, and ceramic tile in all wet areas.

“It’s the little touches that make a home look and feel special,” Greg says, “A home is basically sticks and bricks. It takes a lot of attention to detail to make a dream reality.”

Greg Steinmetz Construction currently offers seven models under $200,000 and has built homes up to three-stories and 9,000 square feet.

“It’s very satisfying to know you’re helping put someone in their dream home,” Greg says. “We understand that a home is the biggest investment you can make and that most homebuilders pour their heart and soul into the project. We do, too.”

To ensure quality control on all his projects, Greg makes it a point to meet with each client personally to assess and determine his or her needs and wishes.

“We work very hard to ensure that the homes we build are a true reflection of our customers’ lifestyles,” Greg says.

Four talented and experienced superintendents are in charge of scheduling and making sure projects are completed on time and on budget. Following completion, Greg walks through each client’s home with them to ensure total satisfaction.

“I would recommend Greg Steinmetz Construction to anybody interested in building a home,” Noemi says. “Their attitude and presentation is top notch and the quality of their work speaks for itself.”
