Hunger Pangs

A well-known psychological theory suggests that your physical state can affect your emotional state and how you perceive your surroundings.

The most well-known example of this phenomenon is being “hangry.” At this point, we become so hungry it begins to negatively influence our mood. On a scientific level, hunger triggers the autonomic nervous system and hormones, which share a direct link with emotions.

If you know you’re sensitive when it comes to your hunger, eat a filling breakfast and pack snacks during the day in order to prevent a rumbling stomach. To ward off irritability, it’s important to remind yourself of your hunger. Recognizing the source of your frustration helps to make you feel more in control.
