Eat Street Ocala

What “weather permitting” means to locals is come rain or come shine, turn out for Eat Street Ocala. And that’s just what our wonderful community did on this past Thursday night. “The rain came but so did the people!” explains organizer Tammy Cowart. “Typically, when the rain starts, things stop and people do not come, but the people came in droves!  I saw them standing in line in the rain to try the different foods.”

Some of the in-demand eats on hand were: Mitch Cook’s Fat Tiki Island Flair food truck; DB’s Rolling Dough Wood Fired Pizza food truck; The Ice Queen ice cream truck; I Love ACAI food truck; Dog Daze Shave Ice food truck; Veganly Delicious Desserts; and Dawg Days Hot Dogs. Big Lee’s Serious About Barbeque (by Rashad Jones) was featured at the Chef’s Table.

DJ KC Webb kept attendees grooving all evening long, while performers including fire dancers Phantasmagoria, street performer Chris Willett of Funky Fire Performance Art, and the ladies of The Ocala Cannibals roller derby team, kept audiences entertained. For the kids, Marion County Parks & Recreations kept the tykes buzzing with fun games from their activities truck while others had the time of their lives jumping in puddles.
